Ruffin and Associates is an independent manufacturer’s sales agency with over 40 years of experience in the utility industry serving the investor owned utilities, rural electric cooperatives, and municipal systems in Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas and Louisiana. Our staff has over 150 years of combined experience in the electrical utility and manufacturing industry. Ruffin and Associates represents the premier manufacturers of lighting, poles, high voltage electrical connectors, conductors, insulators and associated products.

Ruffin and Associates History

Ruffin and Associates was created in 1976 by Stan Ruffin to better serve the customers in Mississippi. Over the years, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Louisiana were added to the territory as the need arose. In 2008, Stan Ruffin retired and sold the business to an ownership group consisting of Mike Carson, Terry Jacob, Chip Williams, Jim Ratliff, and Todd Martin. Mike Carson became President of Ruffin until he sold his shares and transitioned to part-time in 2017. At that time, Chip Williams was elected President of Ruffin and Associates, and Gary Skillern joined the ownership group. Terry Jacob sold his shares in 2018, and Aaron Duplechin joined the ownership group. After working part time for 2 years, Terry Jacob fully retired in 2020. The current ownership group of Ruffin and Associates is made up of Chip Williams, Jim Ratliff, Todd Martin, Gary Skillern, and Aaron Duplechin.
